Innovation in Aermec solutions for energy efficiency
Promoting innovation in the field of sustainability and energy saving, together with solutions designed to minimise environmental impact, have always been and will continue to be a fundamental objective for the company.
Below are some of the most significant Aermec innovations:
Inverter motors and EC technology.
Application of EC technology to terminals for rooms, chillers and heat pumps to adapt performance to the actual load, minimising energy wastage.
High-efficiency heat recovery systems.
Solutions designed for recovery during air renewal, recovering thermal energy that would otherwise be dispersed.
Free-cooling technology.
Systems that use external air for cooling, greatly reducing the reliance on cooling circuits in advanced applications such as data centres.
Multi-purpose heat pumps.
Units capable of producing hot and chilled water simultaneously and independently, optimising heat transfers between different areas of a building.
Use of environmentally-friendly cooling fluids.
Transition towards low GWP refrigerants and plant solutions that use water as a heat conductor fluid.
Integration with renewable energy.
Design of optimised solutions to operate with geothermal probes and photovoltaic systems
Environmental Product Declarations
PEP ecopassport of Aermec products
Aermec participates in the PEP Ecopassport programme, reporting the environmental impacts of its products.
The programme provides for the creation of a Product Environment Profile by adopting the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) methodology in accordance with UNI EN ISO 14040 and 14044, which quantifies the environmental footprint of the product throughout its entire life cycle (Cradle To Grave):
01.
Procurement and Production
Impacts related to the extraction, processing and transportation of raw materials.
Impacts due to transformations and industrial processes at the plant.
Impacts related to the disposal of plant waste and benefits related to the recovery and recycling thereof.
02.
Distribution and installation
Impacts related to logistics, installation and commissioning.
Impacts related to the disposal of packaging and benefits related to the recovery and recycling thereof
Impacts related to the use of materials and resources for installation and commissioning.
03.
Operational Phase
Impacts related to energy and resource consumption during the product operation.
04.
End of Life
Impacts related to the disposal of the product and benefits related to the recovery and recycling of materials.
Strategic value for production
Construction certifications
Integrating the necessary data into the LEED, BREEAM and WELL protocols in order to obtain credits.
Regulatory compliance
Meeting the technical requirements of the Minimum Environmental Criteria (MEC).
Environmentally-friendly design
Supporting plant choices aimed at promoting decarbonisation and maximum energy efficiency.
